Ooh what I treat I just had!  Every now and again I am asked to review body building supplements.  It’s a little distracting to say the least, and I have to monitor my time wisely because I tend to get lost in “Fleshville.”

Ultra Ripped Thermogenic Formula is by a company called Ultimate Nutrition–AKA–”Home of the Beefcakes.”  They carry a plethora of body building supplements–but strangely enough, not this one.

Hmmm…

I am thinking (because I have to do that occasionally), that Ultimate Nutrition dropped this product for reasons unknown.  Usually it’s lack of sales or interest.  And considering Ultra Ripped Thermogenic Formula is all over the net for ridiculously cheap prices, I’m thinking they peddled it out to other retailers to get rid of it.

But there’s nothing wrong with getting a bargain, is there?  I’m a yard sale queen!

Ultra Ripped Thermogenic Formula is a product designed to coax your fat cells into releasing fatty acids into the bloodstream where it can be used for energy.  It also has ingredients to speed up metabolic rate and suppress the appetite.

Here are the claims:

• Ephedra Free
• Helps Promote Increased fat Oxidation
• Reduces Appetite and Weight gain

Does it work?  The proof isn’t in the pudding–because we shouldn’t be eating pudding–it’s in the ingredients.  Let’s look over them…

Ultra Ripped Thermogenic Formula Ingredients

• Chromium (as chromium polynicotinate) 100 mcg—proven in clinical trial to regulate blood sugar levels reducing cravings for high carb/sugary snacks.  Test subjects ate 365 less calories a day. Clinical dose is 200-400 mcg.  100 mcg is nowhere near enough.
• Garcinia Fruit Extract (standardized for 50% hydroxy citric acid) 1200 mg-Hydroxycitric acid tells the brain when you’ve eaten enough.  It’s not an appetite suppressant as it’s marketed to be, but rather manipulates nerve centers in the brain.  If you’re getting enough Chromium, Garcinia works synergistically with it to produce weight loss results.
• Bitter Orange (fruit extract) 133 mg—aka synephrine, Bitter Orange works much like ephedrine without the harmful side effects to the cardiovascular and nervous systems.  It speeds up metabolism and thermogenesis (fat burning.)

• Guarana (seed extract)-a form of caffeine that may promote weight loss through appetite suppression but there’s a lot of speculation and no clinical proof.
• Green tea (leaf extract)-a clinically proven ingredient (in the correct dose) that contains catechins for fat oxidation (breakdown), natural caffeine for metabolism and antioxidants for free radical healing.
• White willow (bark extract)-a natural form of aspirin used in weight loss supplements to promote energy when used together with other ingredients that promote energy and thermogenesis.  This ingredient is ‘fluffy’ at best.

There’s been oodles of research done on the health and weight loss benefits of Chromium, Bitter Orange and Green Tea–but you’re not getting anywhere near clinical dose in Ultra Ripped Thermogenic Formula.

Side Effects of Ultra Ripped Thermogenic Formula

Side effects of using Ultra Ripped Thermogenic Formula could include the jitters, restlessness, insomnia, heachaches and stomach ailements.

Just because it’s ‘ephedrine-free’ does not mean it’s stimulant free.
