Alli Review

It’s probably a more effective colon cleanser than weight loss supplement. I’m sure you’ve read about the stinky side effects: explosive diarrhea and oily discharge. Alli is proven to help you lose 1 lb a month. Big deal.

How Does Alli Work?

Orlistat (main ingredient) helps reduce caloric intake by inhibiting the absorption of fat in the body.  It hinders an enzyme in the pancreas from breaking down triglycerides in the intestine, thus preventing fats from being absorbed. Where does all of the unabsorbed fat go? It leaks out of your you-know-what and all of your khakis. In fact, Alli even recommends that you carry an extra change of clothes with you at all times!

Alli Side Effects

Probably the biggest drawback to Alli is the undesirable side effects that are pretty much unavoidable.  Extremely loose, uncontrolled bowel movements and flatulence seem to be very common and prove to be embarrassing to most users.  Those nasty experiences just don’t seem worth the one pound of weight lost during the month!  Over half of the testimonials we have read claim that it is definitely a below average product that is overpriced and ¾ claim to have experienced a disagreeable stomach and uninvited leakage. The repeat positive comment we read is that it is available at basic stores such as Wal-Mart.

Alli Pros

  • Available at Costco, Walmart
  • Informative website

Alli Cons

  • Awful side effects – explosive diarrhea – NO THANKS!
  • Inconvenient – who wants to carry an extra pair of pants?
  • No money back guarantee – where’s the confidence?
  • Only 1lb of weight loss a month
  • Expensive

Alli Conclusion

I don’t recommend Alli to anybody. Trust me, I’ve taken it, experienced the nasty side effects and didn’t lose 1 pound. It’s not even close to being one of our top 3 Weight Loss Pills.

There are many supplements that have quicker and higher weight loss without the negative effects. You just need to know which ones and where to find them. We have included a list of supplements that can provide much better results and don’t keep you running to the bathroom!  We have also included a link to the best and most reputable places to purchase them.

Alli blocks fat. Theirs healthy fats that cause you to lose weight and unhealthy fat that cause you to gain weight. Alli cannot distinguish the two. So thats a really bad thing.

Alli side effects make me want to vomit. On there own website they recommend you wear “dark pants” so that it blends in with your “oily discharge from your anus”. Yuck!

Vitamins A, D, E, and K are all fat soluble vitamins. So if you take ALLI you MUST also take these vitamin supplements as well to make sure you are getting them and don’t get malnourished.

Alli is the absolute WORST diet pill I have ever used. My favorites are Fenphedra, Hydroxycut, and Fenterdren. Trust me… Alli = no fat loss and hundreds of dollars worth of new clothes because of “discharge” stains. The other products = hundreds of dollars of new clothes because you will actually LOSE WEIGHT!!!

I used alli last summer when it came out and lost 10 pounds in 2 months. I called it my keep me honest pill. It made me consider everything I ate and if it was right for me. As long as I stayed under 15 grams of fat per meal, I was fine and had no problems.

You MUST change your eating habits. Like they always say, there is NO free lunch.

My daughter and I have been using Alli for just about a year, and are very pleased. You do need to watch your fat intake. If you do, you won’t have the side effects. The advertising also says “helps you lose 50% more”. If you are doing nothing else, than 50% of nothing is nothing. With a no sugar, low fat, low carb diet, and excersise 4 days a week, I have lost 20lbs and my daughter has lost 43lb.

Not worth it. The weight loss is slow and not permanent. Plus, you get the worst diarrhea ever. You really do need to carry an extra pair of pants with you to work. Here’s a tip: if you do bring an extra pair of pants, make sure it’s the same pair (color, style etc.), otherwise you’ll get some pretty weird looks.

you have to learn to eat foods that are more healthy for you. The embarrassing diarrea comes from eating to much fat in your diet. This product is working for me. As with any weight loss product you must get some exercise, there’s no way around it.

My cousins are on Alli, they have both lost all of their baby weight and they were huge. They did say that you have to watch the fat intake with Alli because both of them have had the wiered discharg. When I asked my doctor about Alli he made a face because of the side affects that he’s heard of. He said that if I did start up with Alli that a LOW FAT DIET is important and I have to exercise. NO MATTER WHAT DIET PILL YOU TAKE IT WILL NOT WORK IF YOU ARE SITTING ON YOUR BUT ALL DAY EATING JUNK FOOD. Read the bottles people, they all say with DIET AND EXERCISE!

Alli is awful! I can’t believe they allow it to be sold over the counter. The side effects were almost instant. I took it in the morning (I ate a healthy nearly fat free breakfast)and I had the worst stomach pains at work. I figured it was part of the Alli experience and that the pain would be worth it. On my 4th day I felt a warm, liquidy substance runding down my leg – yes, it is what you think it is. I decided to keep on going. Guess what? I only lost one pound my first month. Considering Alli’s high price and the terrible pain it caused me, it IS NOT WORTH IT. DO NOT TRY ALLI!

I started using Alli in February – by April I had lost 15 lbs..
About the explosive diahrea – if you don’t eat fatty foods it won’t happen. If you ear proper foods, you’ll find a little oil in the toilet water – that’s all.

The other two lost about two pounds each. Alli is horrible product. I would be able to understand if I tried it and it didn;t work, but four others? That’s enough of a sample size to confirm my suspicions. AVOID THIS SCAM PRODUCT!!!

I have used Alli for a few months and lost 25lbs. I would recommend it to anyone who is willing to change their life style. It sounds like everyone here who has posted a comment does not understand that there is no miracle drug for weight lose. You have to be willing to change your eating habits and exercise. The alli pills work great if you follow the program!!. No more than 15 grams of fat per meal and there will be no side effects. I have to say to the commenters if alli isn’t working for you then you aren’t eating right and you are not exercising. I tried everything else and nothing worked until I tried Alli and changed my habits. So get on the ban wagon people and understand it works if you work. Get it. Thanks

I am on the Alli now…I have not checked my weight yet to see if i have lost any weight…I have had a few Minor
effects but not so many..I have learned to just not eat over 15g of fat per meal…I think with me takin the Alli it helps me to chose what I eat now and how much fat I take in per meal…It also has me checkin the food labels when I shop now! I am planing on staying on the Alli for the entire month and see what happens and IF I LOSE weight I will buy another bottle as it is very expensive….So Im crossing my fingers I lose some weight….And btw I have never had to carry an xtra pair of pants with me…it has not came to that at this point and i been on it for over a week!!! So I would recommend you to try it if your wanting to lose some weight and keep it off! The main thing I like about ALLI is you will not have no jitters and no heart racing and sleepless nights…I think its worth trying for sure…my docter recommended it to me and said alot of his friends are takin Alli and loseing lots of weigh…GOODLUCK EVERYONE!!!!

I put myself on a low fat diet a few days before I started taking the pills and continue to monitor what I eat. I also hear that people aren’t losing weight, but were they exercising? I think the best thing is to exercise and cut out all the bad foods we’re eating, but who wants to do that? So just be fat for the rest of your life because everyone can’t be skinny.

It would seem like a SCAM PRODUCT to people who DON’T FOLLOW THE ALLI PLAN – this product is MUCH MORE than just a pill… if you use alli like a miracle pill, then you WILL have nasty side effects. If you take the time to actually read, and follow, YES FOLLOW the alli PLAN this pill helps you lose 50% more weight than diet and exercise alone.

The rule is 15g of fat PER MEAL.

If you eat more than that, you will have side effects.
If you don’t eat more than that, you will NOT have side effects… pretty darn simple if you can read and count!!!

Add a regular exercise routine and you will drop pounds. Add strength training, and your body will be transformed.

Don’t believe the comments that say you can’t control your bowel movements… it’s only true for people who eat more than 15g of fat per meal, or if you take alli too soon (start 15g/meal diet three days before you take your first pill to cleans extra fat out).

More than anything else, I beleive alli is a life-style change that is easy to live with for life… NOT AN EASY MIRACLE DRUG! It’s an actual plan for actual people, and pretty easy to follow with all the help they provide on the website.

ALLI EVEN GIVES OUT FREE REWARDS (kitchen gadgets, cookbooks, lots of fun stuff) WHEN YOU SEE RESULTS! Never heard of any company so loyal!

    I LOVE ALLI!!! :D

I encourage anyone that wants to lose weight to keep a journal of what they’re eating and when and when they exercise. I also take weekly measurements and I have seen a big difference. You have to stick to the recommended calorie intake and fat grams per day. I do that and do not encounter any of the side effects. Alli is not for someone who doesn’t want to change there eating habits. It’s truly a life change and one that is working great for me!

You tend to crave high fat foods because your body is missing them. I have used Alli for quite a while w/o nasty side effects. Haven’t lost much weight, but have kept stable after losing 30 lbs on another program. We vacation twice a year and it’s an automatic 6 lb. weight gain. With Alli, we went on an Alaskan cruise last summer and I only gained 2 lbs, which I quickly took off when we got home.
I tried Leptodrene for several days and felt so awful on it (hyped up, couldn’t sleep, palpitations) that I had to quit. At least Alli doesn’t cause you to iron shirts at 2:00 AM.

There are no “treatment effects” as long as you are true to yourself and don’t rely on a pill to magically melt the pounds away. If you don’t want to be fat (that is why you are taking it) then follow the plan. It works! I have been taking it 2 weeks and lost 10 lbs. Thanks Alli

I was thinking about trying Alli and still may. Just by reading the postings I was, at first, deciding to NOT try Alli. Then I read some positive remarks. It does appear that many are looking for a quick-fix on weight loss without really working at it, like change in diet and exercise. My main comment is, if you exercise and change your diet, why do you really need Alli? I think people are wanting to lose weight but continue with an unhealthy diet, like a miracle drug.

I’m just a casual observer here, but…is it possible the people who are following the directions for Alli are losing weight because they are eating less? Just a thought, but as with all diets, they do require you to eat less of something, whether it be fat or carbs, somethings gotta go. The pill probably does nothing (nothing good from what I read). It’s the diet plan they instruct you to follow that is causing the weight loss. I could tell you to restrict your fat intake to 15 grams and give you an aspirin to take once a day. I guarantee you’ll lose weight!

With Alli, I use it as a backup. I take it maybe four or five times a week, always after a meal if I eat out or something with extra fats in it. This way I don’t absorb the fats, but don’t have those awesome side effects.

I have lost a couple of pounds and kept it off with this. Although I would like to loose more, I just keep at the exercise and diet.

I have been taking Alli for 7 weeks. I have lost over 25 lbs. I have not had any nasty side effects but also have watched everything I eat. Exercise has also contributed to the weight loss. The only way to lose weight is to change your eating habits. This pill is a tremendous help but not a miracle drug.

Let me say that if you have high triglycerides,LDL and your total cholesterol level is through the roof…Alli is your friend. People, we eat to much grease with reckless disregard for our health. Alli, has helped at save my life. These grease releases will subside when all the fat is gone. If you like lard pumping through your veins..then Alli is not for you. Furthermore, I learned the hard way to respect my body…and learned to eat Sushi.

I have been on a low carb diet with no pills or supplements and have lost over 38 pounds in 16 weeks. I am not even doing much in the form of exercise…just watching my carbs, eating more fruits and veggies and drinking lots of water. I also am writing down what I eat…this is really important. So please..save your money, save yourself the embarrasment and just do it on your own. I have very little will power but have been able to do this because I am taking it one day at a time with no quick miracle plan. Just lots of prayers.

I think the black comment was unnecessary. Stick to the facts! I am a black female and have taken Alli for the past 6 months. I’ve lost 25 pounds with the only side affect being releasing of the fat which is what the instructions said that I would do. I think it keeps one honest – the least amount of fat you intake – the least amount you will have to dispose of. I’m very satisfied with it – but I understand that not all diet pills work the same for everyone.

Alli has worked for me, however you MUST really stick to the program and limit your fat intake and include a little exercise. The only reasons the accidents are happening is because you are eating too much fat. I have had accidents also, but I have realized that I couldn’t cheat this program and really had to change my eating habits and it worked. Ignorance is not the answer ANITA, referring to black people and how people spell things, when your grammar is not even correct. Alli is only as good as the instructions being followed, so pay close attention to the plan and it will work for you also.

I have read the comments and have noticed that the individuals who are having the most problems with Alli seem to be the individuals with the least amount of grammar and etiquette education. I have tried Alli, and according to my physician it is the only diet pill that people with certain conditions should take. I Agree with those who are Anti-Anita. To make a racial comment (no I am not black, but I was very offended)shows ones ignorance. Could it possibly be the same ignorance that disallows the individual to succeed on this diet plan. If your plan is to eat (pardon my french) crap and take a pill, then you get crap in return. Does this work, it says it blocks fat, it says beware of side affects. It has books (for the love of Pete!) which instruct you. You cannot “try” to change your lifestyle of eating habits and expect to succeed. You have to “decide” to change before you can succeed.

First of all if you only eat 15 grams of fat per day and exercise you don’t need the help of pill. Losing weight is no secret. Calories in Calories out. Most people who lose weight on diet pills also changed their diets. There is no such thing as a miracle pill. Save you hard earned money and try a life style change not a diet you will have lasting results and live longer.

Due to medical problems, I gained a severe amount of weight in a very short time. I wanted to try something safe to help me get rid of it. It didn’t work for me and my (college aged) daughter tried it. She just had to drop 7 – 10 pounds. She, like others her age, tend to go out on the weekend. She was not happy with what happened. The pills even give you a list of food you can have from almost all restaurants even burger king and macdonald’s !!!! So everyone is different for a reason, So if this product does not work for you don’t complain(even though you brightened my day a little LOL) move on until you find whats right for you. Also Anita That racist comment didn’t even make sense. I mean thats like saying only hispanic people eat at Taco Bell Which I am black and I would eat taco bell over KFC any day and I only like the biscuits from KFC anyway. So people do not give up hope if this product does not work for you, just try something else until your comfortable, with or without the liquid discharge. Good luck

I just started Alli, 11-8-08 I lost quite a bit of weight over the summer using rapid slim sx, and it worked really good for me for a while, keeping from wanting to eat so I lost weight fast but I was also keeping busy as well. Anyway I started Alli just wanting to maintain my weight, I havent really had any bad side effects yet, I do try and follow the fat intake so I wont but the way I see it if you do over do the fat and you loose it you are keeping that much fat out of your body, I do have the benifit of staying at home for the most part so I dont have to worry about the side effects so much. I do understand how embarassing it could be to be out and not be able to control it. after reading the posts here I will finish my bottle slower than I intended to. I agree with some of you that if you were to follow the low fat diet with exercise you would most likely get the same results. but I do like the idea if I were to over do it sometimes the most of the fat would be kept out.

I combined Alli with eating less and some exercise and the results were excellent. I lost 19 pounds in the first six or seven weeks and lost another four pounds during the next two months, even after going back to my old eating habits. I had only minor side-effects, none of which were serious. I was wary of eating fatty meals, particularly in a restaurant, but experienced none of the problems about which I was warned.

    I recommend Alli very strongly!

It seems there is a direct correlation between people who can write (and read?) and weight loss with Alli.

You have to READ the DIRECTIONS and FOLLOW THEM. It is not just a pill to swallow and not change your eating.

Yes, you must reduce your fat intake, and if you don’t you will suffer the consequences. If you do lower your fat intake to 15g per meal, alli will help you get rid of a quarter of that fat when you have a BM.
I don’t want diarrhea, therefore I don’t eat as much fat, and I’m losing weight rapidly – and I’m not even exercising yet.

I think it’s interesting to read the different comments. The very negative are credible because who wants to write about having accidents in their pants? I suppose some could be by scatologically-inclined teen boys, but it’s unlikely they’d be on this site. However, the miracle success stories fall into two distinct categories: the I-love-you-all and it worked for me, and the you-all-cheated which is why it didn’t work for you. What fascinates me is that you can find shills for every single product on a website devoted to discussing it, and they take these same two tacks. Either they’re your best friend who just wants to share the amazing secret they learned, or they insult you and say you’re too stupid to read the fine print, listen to the infomercial carefully, follow the alli instructions, etc. I wasn’t planning to try alli myself, but my caution is to those seeking advice on here: beware the rave reviews (I lost tons of weight and never had a single accident!). If it’s too good to be true, it’s not true. Cons are everywhere. If you don’t believe my points, go to infomercialscams.com and read for a few days. Also, a registered nurse who specializes in women’s health and has nothing to lose or gain by blogging about this drug fully expects it to be pulled off the shelves by the FDA soon. Take care of yourselves. It’s not worth losing your health to be thin.

I have been using Alli for 2 months. A co-worker and I went half on 2 bottles from Sam’s Club they have the best price lower than Costco.I have lost 10 lbs.You have to change your eating habits if you want results. If you follow the instructions and Watch the Fat You Will Not.. have a problem. I had a small accident that was due to eating a tamale and taco for lunch and a micowaved greasy burrito for a late night snack. I paid for eating that greasy burrito at work the next day.I was lucky that a co-worker pointed it out to me I just went to the bathroom an washed the accident away.I will continue to take Alli. When I look in the mirror at my body I feel good.Three of my co-workers have started to take Alli.

    Thanks,

ok here is the thing about alli, all the people who had bad experiences with alli, the reason you have those bad experiences is because you are eating alot of fat, alli takes that fat and sends 25% of it straight to your colon. basically its like grease, so its slides out easy. well if you follow the plan they give you it works great, i have lost 85 pounds now on alli, coming down from 427 pounds to 342 pounds and i am still going. it is not a “MAGIC” pill, people need to understand there is no magic pill, you have to change your habits, and the side effects for me are a GREAT motivator to not eat high fatty foods. you have to understand you need to change how much you eat and how bad that food is for you. you cannot just take they pill and throw away the program people, it is expensive but it is working for me and i have been doing it for 3 months, thats 30 pounds a month for me on this program, so i recommend it to everyone. i also recommend to not stray from your diet, or you might have an accident! cant beat that motivation right, if i eat this greasy mcdonalds i will crap my pants most likely in public, you wont eat it! good luck everyone

I’ve been on Alli for 5 weeks and so far have lost 15lbs. This is unusual for me because I have a slow metabolism and thyroid problems. For me to be able to lose at this rate is amazing! I’m not depriving myself of anything- just switched to no-fat versions of the treats I love and added more fresh fruit and vegetables to my diet. I don’t eat meat, so cheese is my main source of fat in my diet. I just take an Alli pill when I eat something with fat in it and I’ve only had one incident of loose bowels and that was the first week when I hadn’t adjusted my diet yet. Alli works if you follow the directions and cut fat out of your diet and exercise regularly. Try it and see!

SO it is working but you have to eat right and they tell you that. Less on the fatty foods, yea you get a bit of the poos from time to time but once again it depends on what you eat. I went from a size 12 to a 8. I use to weigh 200 pound and came done to 160 and stay there forever and this helped me lose that last few pounds, still have a few more but I am happy with what I am now.

Alli works if you are willing to do the work needed to get there!!!!!
IF YOU CONTINUE TO EAT THE FRIED CHICKEN AND HIGH FAT FOODS YOU WILL POOP! IT TAKES 24 TO 48 HRS TO GET RID OF THE FOODS IN YOUR SYSTEM SO IF YOU HAD SUNDAY DINNER HIGH IN FAT AND YOU START ALLI MONDAY YOU WILL GET RID OF SUNDAY DINNER TUESDAY AND FROM THAT DAY FORWARD YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER!!!!!!!
I CAN’T BELIEVE HOW MANY PEOPLE WANT A DIET PILL TO TAKE AND EXPECT IT TO MAKE THEM SKINNY WITH OUT EXCERCISE AND PROPER DIET. THEY WANT A MIRACLE PILL TO CONTAIN THE WILL POWER THE EXCERCISE AND THE PROPER DIET WHILE THEY LAY AROUND AND EAT ALL THE JUNK FOOD THEY WANT AND THEN BAD MOUTH A PRODUCT DESIGNED TO HELP PEOPLE. IT WILL NOT MAKE YOU LOOSE ALL OF THE WEIGHT ALL AT ONCE, IT IS DESIGNED TO HELP YOU LOOSE JUST A BIT MORE THAN IF YOU DIDNT USE IT AT ALL.YOU ARE ALL MISSING THE BIG PICTURE!!!! IT TOOK A LONG TIME TO PUT IT ON SO IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO TAKE IT OFF!!! THIS IS NOT INTENDED FOR ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE STRUGGLED ALL THEIR LIFE OR HAVE HAD WEIGHT ISSUES LIKE MYSELF, THAT NEED THAT LITTLE EXTRA HELP TO KEEP GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, THIS IS FOR ALL THE IDIOTS OUT THERE THAT JUST DONT GET IT AND NEED TO GET OFF THERE LAZY BHINDS AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND STOP BLAMING EVERYONE ELSE FOR THEIR STUPIDITY….!!!!!!!!

I just want to say that I don’t trust any website that has as many typos as this one. And I kind of wonder on what basis the other diet pills on this website are considered “Top Picks.” Alli is the best diet pill to take because it is SAFE. It won’t give you a heart attack, it won’t make your heart sputter, give you jitters, or kill you, like many other diet pills can. I have done extensive research on Alli and it can even help prevent some forms of heart disease and cancer. So, if you are vain and want to take a diet pill without considering more serious side effects, ignore Alli and take something that isn’t as safe.

I have not used Alli myself but am a nurse and do research on nutrition, marketing and health maintenance. If Alli’s manufacturers recommend eating NO MORE than 15g of fat in a meal, and you eat out regularly at any restaurant, you probably will experience the negative side effects described by other users above. It is very, very difficult to eat any restaurant meal without ingesting more than 15 grams of fat, and this includes “safe” foods such as soups, salads with lowfat dressings, etc.

If you want to try Alli I would suggest this: reduce your restaurant eating drastically before you start, then pack your own lunches, go for subway low-fat options, use no-fat salad dressing, etc. A typical meal at a restaurant such as Outback will probably have at least 30g of fat or more, depending on if you include appetizers, fries, dressings, or dessert. Depending on where you live, the restaurants you eat at may be required by law to have nutritional info available upon request. Don’t just assume a restaurant item you choose is “pretty healthy”–ask for the nutritional info and find out for sure. You might be surprised at what foods are “safe” and which ones are sabotaging your weight loss program.

Unfortunately there is no free ride, but if you can start reducing the fat in your diet you may be able to use this product effectively. And….even if Alli doesn’t work for you, your arteries and heart will thank you anyway! Good luck. :-)

For one thing… you have to take Alli properly and eat properly. McDonalds and greasy butt pizza WILL cause you to have the greasy runs, but that’s because it’s not susposed to be in your body. I took Alli last summer and lost 26 pounds with it, along with avoiding the greasy foods, and work out. It does work if you change the way you eat as well. That’s what weight loss is susposed to be about. Changing the junk we put in our bodies that make us over weight in the first place. People are too lazy to exercise and eat right. Everyone wants to take a magic pill that makes the fat disappear, but don’t really want to work for it. Come on people. I just finished nursing my second baby, and have a little after pregnancy weight, and got back into the poor eating habbits, so I’m planning on using Alli again. It does work. If you work with it. :P

as far as spelling errors it is a bit annoying ,thats why alot of browsers have spell check!!!the main point is what works for one does not always work for all… there are directions for a reason ,follow them and you should be fine.i would like to comment on the cost . you would think that with all the big ta~da about the growing obesity epidemic contributing to the rising cost of health care.they could make it a little more affordable.it seems to me that the crappy side affects would teach one to make healthier choices, shitting your pants on the way home after a large big mac meal should teach one to NOT eat a fricken big mac and large fries dipped in mayo and catsup…OR YOU WILL SHIT YOUR PANTS…after a while it would be customary and a habit to make better meal choices as a way of life.this will in turn make you healthier, and slimmer thruout the rest of your life …. the consequences of over eating are far worse then shitting your pants

I started taking ALLI on Jan. 6, 2009 and have lost 6 pounds so far and I have not had any issues with it whatsoever. I am really watching my fat and calorie grams and exercising more. I already have issues with my bowels from chemo and radiation for cancer of the rectum almost 2 years ago and ALLI has not caused me any more issues. I don’t know if it is good to take this long term but, it has really made me watch what I eat every day and gave me the jump start I needed. We had special things going on at work and was able to turn down pizza, garlic bread and other treats and that really made me feel good!

Patty, great post on Jan. 5. This is not a miracle drug and you have to change your eating habits. I also signed up on the ALLI website and get encouraging emails every day that are so helpful and really keep me going.

I have talked to a number of people who are on or have taken this product. If you stay under 15 grams of fat, as reccomended by not only Alli but every other diet plan you will loose weight. Alli just reminds you in a not so friendly manner that the food you ate was not healthy. Before purchasing this product try staying under the 15 grams of fat per day for 1 month if you loose weight bingo you don’t need to purchse Alli. The key to loosing weight and keeping it off is the amount of Fat Grams you consume daily. Good Luck

    Hi All,

I have been reading all of the comments on this website, some good, some bad. Yesterday in the newspapers it was announced that Alli diet pills will be readily available over the counter in Europe within 2 months, I am writing this from Manchester which is in the North of England.
On reading the article in the paper I decided to delve further, why? because I am overweight and I have been a member of a slimming club for 2 years and even though I have had a good success, I have now reached what is known as a plateau, my fault really far too many christmas goodies which started early December and being somewhat a bit lazy.
From what I have read, I have decided to give Alli a try, why? because what has become clear to me, is that a lot of people do expect a miracle when using these types of drugs and they don’t think they have to make any effort, apart from eating more to give the drug a run for its money, sadly it does not work like that, we are all fat because we eat too much of the wrong food, simple and the only way to loose some weight is to stop doing that and get a little more exercise, drugs like Alli will help us get into the right mind set, but we still need to follow the plan to the letter so we don’t have these accidents that have been so clearly stated on here. Good luck to all of you in the future.

I have tried the orginal form of alli some years ago and I will tell you that it does work. You are forced into not eating the wrong foods or you will pay the price and sometimes that is not plesant! If you are really serious about loosing the weight you have gained you will continue to use this product and trust me, You Will Loose the WEIGHT! Why, because you can not continue eating the way you have always eaten and not have the terrible accidents. The REAL Queation is, DO YOU REALLY WANT TO LOOSE THE WEIGHT? I am starting again today. I will get back with all of you in a month and let you know my results.
    Good Luck to you……………….

I have been using Alli for only 2 days. I have already lost 17 lbs through Weight Watchers (which is the only way I can take it off). I have lost and regained back more times than I care to mention. As soon as I quit WW, I gain it back. Which is why I am not quitting this time. I am doing Alli because of the additional 50% weight loss that it is to produce. I have not had any side effects because I am already pre-trained not to eat those types of food. I am wondering if it is worth the $ or should I just stay on track with WW and exercise?

Last January I took Alli (only 1 per day) and in the second week experienced extreme abdominal pain. I went to the emergency room and doctors removed my appendix. I didn’t take anymore Alli until this January. I’ve taken three in three days and am now experiencing the same abdominal pain.

I have tried Alli a few different ways and yes, if you go over the recommented fat intake you will have a poop attack. Alli also works with different diet programs such as Weight Watchers, South Beach diet etc. Go onto Alli site and it will tell you everything you will need to know. It also gives you a exercise and food plan to get you on track. The best way to believe what someone says is to try it for yourself. Good luck………

I’m a bit confused. I’ve read a number of peoples’ comments that say they eat healthily and excersize, but haven’t lost any weight, even though they’re taking Alli. Surely if you were eating right and excersizing you would loose weight with out without Alli. Perhaps these people are getting the eating right part wrong and consuming vast amounts of “low-fat” high carbs food instead of a healthy diet. Or perhaps Alli is preventing their bodies from shedding the fat.

I weighed 218.5 on Friday. Started ALLI on Saturday with close diet monitoring and here it is Monday and my scale read 213!!!
    5 1/2 pounds!!!
You must follow all the diet and exercise recommendations for this to work. I got a treadmill for Christmas and went from 5 minutes of walking at 2mph to walking 30 minutes at 2.5mph with a 2 incline. I change the incline to 3-8 for 5 minutes. I do this 3-4 days a week. After watching Biggest Losers I actually started adding jogging at 6mph for only a minute right now. WOW…I hope I can do more soon.
NO side effects as I do not eat more than 15grms of fat per meal.
I am excited about this new product and with close monitoring I feel that it will work well for me to get down to 180lbs. within 2 months.
Don’t give up…..just use your spare time to plan meals and follow ALLI’s plans. It seems to work!!!
I was lucky enough to purchase 2 boxes at Rite Aid on sale for $49.99 last Friday. A great bargain.
    GOOD LUCK everyone!

Alli will keep you on the right track-if you eat to much fat,you will enjoy hopefully the bathroom, but it is a wonderful way to remember what not to eat! Take your alli and you decide how you will want to remember your food selection!I can promise you if you take it before you eat,you will think twice what you swallow!
you will enjoy the weight loss! eat right-lose weight
Eat wrong and you will have alli to make sure she does what she promise ! if you don’t take your pill it is because you are not serious about eatting right! you can do it! take alli before every meal- you will look great at the pool!

I’ve been on Alli for about 3 weeks now and I’ve lost 10 lbs. If you read the booklets that come with the starter kit it tells you that to avoid having the side effects (ie oily flatulene, loose bowels) then you should eat no more than 15g of fat per meal, eat a low fat diet and exercise!

If you continue eating badly of course you’re going to have the side effects and not loose the weight.

Alli helps you loose the weight if you’re committed. If you’re lazy and want to continue eating crap, you’re not going to loose the weight.

At the beginning I had oily discharge when I used the restroom, never leaked during the day!

One time I slipped and had McDonald’s and I sure regretted that poor decision when I had to rush to the restroom. I’ve stopped eating all the crap and it has worked for me. I really believe it has helped me. Also, I have hypothyroidism and trust me, diet and exercise were not doing the job.

I never experienced the oily stains. i did have the oily stool. we had pizza night and i cheated the system. so it cheated me back. (carry some wipes with you. LOL) i just had a baby and i need to lose the rest of the baby weight i gained so i am going back on the alli diet monday….. i will let you know what happened……

I started Alli 2 1/2 weeks ago. When I first picked up Alli in a store to read the package, a woman came up to me and said “Do not buy that. There are awful side effects”. So I put it back, went home, and looked up the Alli site. It seemed quite obvious that the awful side effects were from not following the instructions. So after giving it some thought, I bought the starter kit.

Here it is, two and 1/2 weeks later. I have lost 7 pounds. I have changed my diet and I do exercise. Some on this site say why do you need Alli if you have done those things. I use Alli to keep me honest. If I weren’t taking it, I might be more inclined to fudge here and there. Now I look at the bag of chips, while I am on my break, and say no thanks. The pill makes me think twice. I have not had any side effects. I keep my fat intake below 15 grams easily. If I am going to eat outside my home, I just won’t take my pill. I still try to eat within the guidelines but figure I don’t want to take a chance. I even took my own fat free salad dressing to a restaurant to use. The following morning I resume my pill. There haven’t been any problems doing it that way.

This is not the easy way out. Number one rule is keep your fat intake lower than 15 grams. I write down everything I eat. It can be a pain to count calories and fat grams but it has made me so aware of how many extra calories I was really eating. So until it becomes a simple, ingrained way of life for me, I will continue with Alli. If that blue pill keeps me honest and I lose a few more pounds with it than without, then it’s for me! I am at the stage of life where weight loss can be harder. I started at 155 lbs. and am down to 148 lbs. I highly recommend Alli to others, but only if they are really serious and committed to make a change in their habits. Ultimately it’s YOUR choice to have the side effects, not the pill’s choice.

I have read all the reviews…WOW a lot more cons than pros. Not what I was expecting at all! However my gut tell me that all of the people who are crapping on themselves are the ones who are “cheating” on the plan and not eating as directed! That is exactly why I am considering trying this pill. I believe the FEAR of suffering the embarrassing consequences/side effects will MAKE ME EAT AS DIRECTED! I am only trying to loose 30-35 lbs, so I shouldn’t be on this pill long. I want to do something about it before it turns into 75lbs or more! I also have an incentive to succeed…I am getting married. I have waited way too long for this happy day, to look fat in my wedding pictures! Furthermore, I hope to get pregnant shortly after, and if I am overweight BEFORE the pregnancy, I will be even huger afterwards! I refuse to be one of those women who uses “I had a baby…8 years ago” as a crutch as to why I am overweight! I am SERIOUS about loosing the weight, which is why I am hopeful that my next review will be a pro, and not a con! I am going to do a bit more homework before I rush out and buy Alli. But should I choose to use this product, I will re-post and let you all know how I made out! GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS GOALS!

I have been on Alli for 9 days now. I have gone from 141 lbs to 135 lbs with no “treatment effects.” And why because I do not go over my 12 grams of fat per meal. I did once and I had “treatment effects” So I never did it again. The bottle says “Low Fat” and exercise. If you can not follow the program, don’t complain about it. You are the one that is not working, not the product.
Stop complaining because you aren’t participating. Expecting results when you are not following the program, doesn’t work.

Okay. Listen up now. If you eat foods that are high in fat, the fat, a percentage of that fat will not be digested and will be secreted from your behind. Alli works this way to decrease the amount of fat that is stored in your body from the garbage you are eating. If you eat less fat, alli will still prevent a percentage of the fat from being absorbed. If you are not eating fat, then your body will be forced to use the fat that is already stored (love handles, belly, booty, thighs, etc.). It is recommended that you consume no more than 15g of fat per meal and take alli with each fat containing meal. It is also recommended that you start your low-calorie, low fat diet at least three days prior to starting alli so that you are used to not eating garbage. They tell you all of this, yet losers still think that it is a miracle pill that allows you to eat what you want, without exercise and still lose weight. If you spend your money on a diet pill and don’t follow instructions, then you deserve the side effects. You also don’t deserve to lose the weight because you are not giving it your best shot; you are just depending soley on the pill and getting mad because you’re pooping your pants.

I have been contemplating buying alli for some time now and thought I would check out the internet first to find some reviews on it, which is how I came across this website.

To me the “Get Diet Solutions” website appears mainly to be an advertisement for apidexin, fentedren and fenphedra, and a slam against alli – the only diet supplement actually approved by the FDA. Who exactly are the “experts” that picked apidexin as their favorite? And while it is nice to see reviews from the average person using diet supplements, just who are these people posting reviews that say alli is no good, and how do I know they actually followed the plan to avoid side affects? Also, I found it very interesting that a search for apidexin took me to a site similar to this one that had its own “expert and consumer recommended” supplements and talked about how apidexin isn’t a good diet supplement.

The lesson here is to take the reviews from consumers with a grain of salt, and to do thorough research on the “expertly” recommended diet supplement this type of website promotes. As for me, I prefer to choose a diet supplement based on recommendations from my real doctor and the FDA.

OK, guys and gals, time for some honest TRUTH!

    1. Does it work? It is used to get OBESE people to lose weight, and many SWEAR by it at half the dose, so I guess the answer is DUH! YES IT DOES!

    2. HOW does it work? It prevents the absorption of fat. Since some vitamins REQUIRE fat(they are fat soluble), you have to take MORE of them. Alli tells you that! That ALSO means that you won’t actually BURN more fat, so you need to exercise, or something.
It ALSO means that you will expel more fat, so take in as little as possible!

    3. Side effects? The NASTY ones have been mentioned here, and I just mentioned one of the good ones.

    4. So what is MY experience? Well, I only took this for about 3 days so far. NO bad effects, I think it HAS helped me lose weight. It apparently lowered my blood sugar(the lowest it has EVER been measured at), and lowered my blood pressure. I checked on the internet, and they ARE registered side effects that others have noticed.

But HEY, MY average meal has about 0-5 grams of fat, and my biggest meal in the past week was about 12 grams of fat. I DID take something that had 29 grams of fat an hour ago. It was a pack of peanuts with only 4gr saturated fat. Total intake for the whole day prior to that was about 12gr. I guess we’ll see how THAT goes.

One more thing. Unless you are OBESE, or you want to lose more than say 25 pounds of fat, DON’T try this! Alli says as much. I AM obese, and want to lose about 25 pounds. I ALREADY lost 35 through diet and exercise. I may even have lost MORE than that, since I think I put on at least a pound of muscle. I just wasn’t seeing enough muscle growth, so I have decided to raise my caloric intake, mostly through carbs and protein.

For those that want to lose a LOT of weight fast, and don’t care….

    1. Try the miracle diet! You really CAN lose 10 pounds or more in 2 days, and it is EASY! And it costs HALF of what alli does! IT works by keeping your blood sugar and vitamins up. Since you don’t get enough fat and carbohydrates, it uses STORED fat.

    2. Try something like twinlabs Ripped Fuel 5X, etc… They are thermogenic, and work by mildly elevating some metabolism.

    3. Try some things like ephedra that work by elevating things more.

    4. You could take the stuff that LITERALLY made me feel like I was going to die.(Sky high blood pressure, heart beating in my chest so fast that I expected it to STOP, etc…) I’m only happy I took it at home, at night, and the really bad stuff subsided after a couple hours. Zantrex-3. Seriously though, only take it if you are a nasty jerk the world can better do without.

BTW with all that said, FDA “approval” simply means it MAY work, benefits CAN outweigh the risks, AND it is recognized as a drug, so the FDA can regulate it. NO supplements or diets are “approved” by the FDA. So don’t fall for THAT marketing ploy. That is getting to be more and more popular.

Your review of Alli is very misleading. Alli alone is not suppose to make you lose weight. It works with a low fat and low calorie diet (and excersice). You are NOT suppose to eat food high in fat or you will have the nasty side effects. If you take it correctly and eat how you are suppose to eat, you will see results. When I first started I lost 7lbs in two weeks. I did a low fat diet (and even cheated once or twice) and worked out on an elliptical 20min a day (nothing ridiculous)

This isn’t a “magic” pill. You have to take it right and eat right.

Thank you Christine. I find it funny how people think they can take a pill which blocks fat and go out and eat a hamburger. HELLO??? If you’re having explosive BM’S and can’t control your bowl movements, it’s not Alli’s fault. It’s that you can’t control what you’re eating. Stop eating fat in high quanity. I have four girlfriends I have recommended this to, and we eat out, go to happy hours, and live normal lives every day without bringing a change of clothes a long. haha. I don’t even think about it anymore. I have lost 10 pounds in one month and that’s with zero exercise. I was only 128 to start off, so that’s huge for my smaller build. Be smart and eat right and you lose weight with or without Alli. It’s that simple. Good luck to all of you looking for a miracle pill.

I love Alli but I will give you a hint… try taking it with Chromium Picolinate 200mcg which can be found at any store as a suppliment. Everytime you take a Alli (before each meal) take the Chromium. Chromimium works on your matabulism and helps the body process carbohydrates and fats then you have the Alli to block some of it….I have been on them for 3 months and lost 50 lbs! I am not kidding….I admit I do what what I eat still, and try not to go over board but I have only had good results. I have not once had to change my clothes and I have had no leakage. It will cause looser stool so make sure you eat your fiber. I take fiber if needed. Yes when you have a bowel movement you will find grease if you ate a high fat meal. (it helps me see where I am making bad choices!) Also the two together do wonders if you can exercise with them! I have a lot of back and neck problems and can not exercise like typical people but just the little I do get seems to work like I have been doing massive work outs everyday and I know its the pills! I see inches coming off… I went from a size 20 to a size 14! And I am still loosing! I am living proof it works. I have nothing to gain by posting this blog. I do not work for Alli or sell any suppliments. I am not trying to drudge up business I have no agenda…. I am just an honest person! I love Alli…. It was worth every penny! I love buying my new jeans! I love seeing my health inprove! I love to move around with less pain! Every week I loose about 5 lbs by the way… So if it doesnt work for some then their problem isnt what they eat to begin with.

I used alli and i lost 27lbs! i have 10 more to go and plan on going back on it, all you have to do is watch your fat intake! no more than 15g fat per pill, and there are so many alternatives to the foods you love, for example Pringles makes a “light” pringles and they’re fat free and in my opinion taste better than the regular ones!!

I have been on alli since august I bought it in america
I have lost three stone plus to date I have run out of the alli and can not wait to use it again it is supposed to be over the counter in england in feb I can not wait to use it again I have one more stone to lose yes there are some {side affects } that is the wrong thing to say about it there are only side affects
if you are stupid because after one to many currys or
greasy english breakfast you know not to do it again
but if you do decide to have a greasy meal alli will
sort your error with in the hours you are asleep and when you get up you go to the toilet and yes there will
be a bight yellow oil in the pan but th means alli has got rid of your over indulgence be sencilble and alli
can work for you big there is no messing your pants
after a few days because you learn not to eat to much fat but if you do alli gets rid of it I think it is
a billiant diet pill if you are sensible good luck

I use it and love it ive lost 40lbs, but also help keep fat from clogging my artery! 2 pluses in one supplement!

Okay the site and other people say you will loose 1 pound or nothing. Thats B.s if you workout takeing NO supplement you will lose average 8 pounds a month, so to say you will lose 1 pound or no weight is saying you just aint workingout and eating too much fatty foods. Think of the side effect as a trainer, the less unhealthy food you eat the less side effects.

I have had some success with alli and I’m happy with it. I do follow the directions, though. 1) for a few days before starting alli, you have to watch your fat intake. 2) while on alli you have to watch your fat intake ~ limit it to 15 grams of fat per meal, and your side effects will be minimal. While I noticed a difference in my stools, I have never had an “accident” and have never carried an extra change of clothes. 3) you have to exercise. alli isn’t like other diet pill that suppress your appetite, but if you are losing weight, it will increase your weight loss by 50%.

I’m very happy with the product and would recommend it to others.

I have recently begun a diet/exercise plan using Alli. I emphasize–DIET/EXERCISE. I am following a calorie count of 1500-1800 with no more than 15g of fat per my 3 meals. Snacks are no fat or extremely low fat (1 g or less). I exercise 3 times a week at Curves. In my first week I lost 2 pounds, which is considered a safe and reasonable amount of weight to lose. If you are not watching your calories and fat grams and not exercising, you’d be lucky to lose anything with any product. I have not had any problems with Alli–no disasters in my pants or anywhere else. Give me a break, people! Losing weight requires hard work and a committment to changing eating behaviors. By the way, I am 59 years old and losing weight gets harder with age.

I’m gonna have to disagree with your analysis of alli. i been using it sometimes once a day sometimes twice depending on the meal i’m having. i started eating better on jan.2nd since i was hungover & hungry on the 1st. i’ve lost 27 pounds & 4 pant sizes. the only time i’ve had any negitive affect was when i tested it & ate something really fattening with it just to see what people were talking about & it was’nt as bad as folks were sayin, but i dont want to eat bad because its all about changing your eating habits right? i’m diggin it & will take it forever if it’s available..lol

Food poisoning = explosive dioreah and 7lb weight loss a week.Much cheaper than Alli!!!. (dont try this at home)

Thanks, y’all, for reminding me that well being doesn’t come out of a bottle.

Eating better and getting yourself moving improves your health and weight- and for those of you exercising and not losing weight, muscle weighs more than fat…so you may be trimming down and not even realizing it!

I picked this product up in the store this evening. Read the back and put it back down and looked it up on the web.

eating fat doesn’t make you fat. It will clog your arteries…but grains and sugars is what packs on the pounds.

I have been on alli for almost 3 months. I think its a great product as long as you eat what you are sappossed to eat and you dont go over the amount of fat grams you are to have, you will not have those treatment effects. I only experienced one time where I had oily stool and thats because I ate to much fat. I exercise and eat right and lost 20lbs so far. They are kind of pricey but to be beauty cost money. I will continue to use this product I have about 40-50 more pounds I want to loose. My goal is to get in that 2 piece bikini by July.

for alli to work you have to eat low fat foods and do some keep fit, up the gym running , walking, it is not a magic pill , its all about a life style change. if you want to eat crap and sit around you will not get that weight off. the drug in alli is usualy on perscription, but from next month in the uk if you go to a pharmacy you will be able to buy it. it is for peole with a ibm of over 28. this product will work BUT ONLY IF YOU FOLLOW THE ADVICE GIVEN . it will not happen over night and you will have the eat the right foods and get of you butt,s

I began using Alli last September. I had great results from it, but in order to lose weight you have to follow the guidelines. You do have to change your eating habits also. You can’t just eat normally with it and expext to lose weight! You’ll just end up crapping your pants and that’s about it. I was losing about 4 pounds a week when I first started Alli. Before I started using it I was only losing about 2 pounds a week before with just diet and exercise. I lost 30 pounds with it. I went from 160 pounds to 130 pounds. So it does work along with dieting. I never had results like that with any other diet pill.

I have been using alli for six months and lost over 20 pounds and kept them off. The thing with ally is that it is not a “miracle pill” you’ll still have to diet and excersise but it will help you loose more weight than with dieting alone. The side effects only come from eating extremely fatty food which you should avoid anyways!!!!! Alli helps you create better eating habits, because the “side effects” let you know when you are making wrong food choices. If you are looking for something more than a easy way out and are planning on healthy changes that you want to stick to for life then I think alli is for you.

I dont know what you all were doing but Alli did help me and knowing that i could have bowl problems kept me eating right and avoiding these side effects. I could not afford Alli for a while though and am now back on it. Ive read some of your comments about being on it for 4 days and not losing anything. Youve gotta be patient, its not a miracle pill. your not gotta just lose weight like its nothing, it still takes time. AND its FDA approved unlike all these others, which means something to me because I work in the medicine industry and I know how important FDA approval is! I will continue to take Alli and lose weight, unlike all you skeptics out there!

Just makes you rethink your eating habits. I don’t eat fast food ever, so if you are eating fast food and it’s greasy, you will have a problem. Cook healthy.

I have already started my low fat diet and lost 10lbs. I’m walking 4 days a week as exercise. I’m confident Alli will help me bind up some of the fat in my main meal of the day, and keep me honest (as previous posters have said). 29 year old male here. Didn’t change my eating habits too much on Alli other than eating a SERVING bowl full of salad every day with a dash of lemon, olive oil and vinegar. I know vegetables stimulate weight loss.

At first, I was really strict with the low fat thing. (about 10 days). Then I said screw it. I eat normal but my stomach has shrunk so I get fuller much faster. I can eat chocolate, ice cream, fried food, you name it and no side effects. Maybe I’m lucky. Yes, there are some times I have to RUSH to the bathroom but it’s usually after a full day. Never had anything uncontrollable.

I am 6 ft…was 247 about a month ago and dropped 10 pounds to 237/238. I can really feel the difference in my cloths and it feels GREAT! I didn’t expect this to be quick. I got fat over 5 years… why would the fat just suddenly disappear? At this rate, in 6 or 8 months I’ll be at my ideal weight. Maybe a year since I know there will be a plateau somewhere in that time.

I do manual labor (carpet steam cleaning) so I get a good deal of exercise. But I’ve been doing this for 10 years.

Weight loss really isn’t as hard as people want to make it out to be. It’s simple really. Stop supersizing your fries. Eat one scoop of Baskin Robbins low calorie chocolate ice cream instead of two scoops of regular (it actually tastes BETTER than the regular), eat a serving bowl of salad every day, throw out the last couple of bites of your burger, use mustard instead of mayo… stuff life that. Eat a whole vegetable before eating a meal and you’ll see you’ll get fuller faster. Chew every bite of your food dozens of times (also helps digestion) and I can go on and on. Another one, skip the soda once in a while and get water.

If you cut out EVERYTHING you love, you’ll go crazy. If you simply eat less of it at each meal, your stomach will shrink (inside) and you’ll get fuller quicker.

But some of these comments are ridiculous! “I’ve been using Alli for 4 days and haven’t seen results”. Seriously?? FOUR DAYS! Wow! Eat a gallon of ice cream everyday and it will take more than 4 days to see the weight gain. Why would it take 4 days to lose weight?

And if Alli is giving you bad side effects then you probably should cut whatever it is you’re eating because it’s WAY too much fat.

I’ve been taking the Alli and I’ve lost 8 lbs so far. Treatment affects are not a problem if you follow the plan correctly. It tells you how many fat grams per meal that you can have based upon your personal body info. If you go over that then yes you will get treatment affects. Taking Alli doesn’t mean you can continue to eat anything and everything you want. You have to limit your fat grams to avoid the treatment affects. Getting the treatment affects serves as a reminder to you that you’ve gone over the recommended amount of fat.

Most of the people on here think that they can take a pill and it will solve all they’re fat issues… Wrong.. Although this pill can have very bad side effects, the point it to completly change your style of eating.. Dont take the pill then have a hamburger after!!! My opinion on taking these pills is take them while on a good easy diet for example weight watchers goes hand and hand with this pill. Eat over your points and you are not going to have a great day, but stay with in your points and you will notice nothing but loss of hunger.. COme on people. lets stop thinking a pill and just a pill with solve all of our issues.. its called work and commitment

I do not believe some of the things people are saying about Alli, people should always read information about a product before purchasing it. I started Alli in Febuary 2009, and in 2 months with a good meal plan and proper exercise, I have lost 7 pounds. Also, it is the only one I have found that is FDA approved. In reading about this product “IF PEOPLE WOULD ONLY READ IT” it will tell you about the effects of the Alli. It really is a disciplinary to keep you on the right track to stay on a healthy diet and exercise plan. Alli does not make you nervous and it is not habit forming, after a few months once you have learned to keep on a healthy diet and exercise plan, you can stop taking Alli all together. When someone does make up their mind to lose weight, you have to keep a positive attitude about it and when you do make up your mind to lose weight do it for yourself first and foremost! Also, I should add, having a clean colon is really a good thing! I work in Out Patient Surgery, where we do colonoscopy’s daily and you really would’nt believe the stuff we see. If some of you only knew, therefore, remember a clean colon is a health colon and eating right and exercising is the key. Even if you have to use a product like alli (one that is safe) to help you along.

ALLI WORKS, my husband and I have been taking it for two months and are losing an average of 2lbs. per week.

YOU WILL NOT HAVE SIDE EFFECTS IF YOU EAT RIGHT. We find it very easy to stay with-in our fat limits by following the ALLI MEAL PLAN and neither of us have had any “accidents”.

The ALLI recipes are easy and delicious, and will prevent side effects. The website plans meals for you and even gives you a printable shopping list. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies and lean meats and even snacks that help cravings.

We are eating more and losing weight at the same time.

I highly recommend ALLI for people who can be sensible enough to follow the directions.

The biggest issue for me when I began the Alli program 2 weeks ago is that it is the ONLY over-the-counter weight loss pill that is approved by the FDA. Add to this the fact that Dr. Caroline Apovian, my doctor in Boston many years ago, wrote the book, I felt totally committed to following the program. I have lost 6.5 lbs. in two weeks, have had no problem whatsoever. I highly recommend this program. Followed closely, it WILL WORK.

WOW, look at all info you all have given. Yes it works,,but, you have to understand how it works. I like the idea of “if I eat the wrong stuff, It lets me know by expelling the fat” So now when I reach for bacon or deep fried foods,(which I love) I know within a few hours I will be reminded that I ate the wrong stuff. Better than fooling yourself and thinking you can eat light fat and there are freebees. I am loosing in areas that I can measure and have to remember the less fat I eat the less oil I get rid of.

Taking Alli made me think twice about eating a greasy, fatty cheeseburger (although I really wanted it) and I lost 43 pounds in 4 months, just by changing my eating habits! I did exercise here and there, but nothing too strenous. I went from a 14/16 to a size 6! It does work if you follow the plan and watch the fat. I craved pizza one night…took the pill and overate with 3 pieces and ……..yes, two days later I paid for it. never did that again and learned my lesson. But Alli DOES work!

I think the problem with Alli is that it is not the pill that makes you lose weight, it is the exercising and the diet or healthy eating. If you take Alli away and just do the exercising and healthy eating you will lose the same amount of weight. All Alli does, is like a “poo” booster which means it helps you go to the toilet daily. For those who don’t follow a healthy lifestyle or exercise they will get the diarrhea symptoms that people describe. So, is Alli worth the price tag? No, just stick to the healthy diet and exercise and buy a box of tablets that help you go to the toilet naturally – much cheaper.

I have tried every diet pill that you can imagine and so far Alli is the firdt one to help me loose weight. I live in Canadian and purchased this in the States when I was there, does any one know if you can get it in Canada. I do not eat any large amounts of greasy foods and have had no problem, with real loose bowels. I guess everyone is different.

People never cease to amaze me…I have been taking Alli for about a month now and I am down about 15 lbs. I love Alli and if you simply take the time to read the bottle, then there should be little or no problems while taking it. Yes, there is potential for an “accident” while taking Alli, but it is clearly stated in the instructions that a high fat diet will cause such problems. And yes, Alli does pose a risk of depleting your body of certain vitamins but it is also printed in the information insert that you must take a daily multi-vitamin while taking these pills which we all should be doing anyway. Alli is not a fat burner, appetite suppressant, or any other kind of diet pill. It is strictly a fat blocker. With a sensible, reduced calorie and low fat diet it makes weight loss so much easier. You just have to be responsible about what you eat and exercise in addition to taking the pill. Another plus, Alli is approved by the FDA. Most “diet” pills on the market are NOT approved and can be extremely dangerous. Bottom line…if you are serious about losing weight, give Alli a try. If you are looking for the easy way out and are not willing to change your eating habits and get some exercise, then maybe liposuction is your best option.

My husband and I took alli for about a month. No results. My husband actually got extremely sick about two weeks into. Serious loose bowels for four days. He wasn’t able to even eat and he still didn’t loose one pound. If your FAT then go to the gym and stop eating crap. You can eat all day long if its good for you, so whats the question? Everyone in this country is looking for a pill to fix everything..Everyone wants instant results, well it takes a long time to get a million extra pounds off, so just do it one pound at a time and live for today..It upsets me that so many people are so ignorant..
Some of you may say “well she must be skinny to say all this.” Well I wasn’t and I made a choice and guess what,? I eat all day long. I eat food, not garbage. There is a difference. America get off the sofa and get off the diet pills and take control of you freaking lives..Make an executive decission to do it for yourself for life..

People can be so judgmental. For those of you bashing others because the crap-causing pill Alli didn’t work for them have no business telling others what they should do to lose weight. Let me tell you something: I followed the Alli plan to the letter, exercised, did everything I was supposed to, and did not lose a single pound. Yet when I was on my own custom diet, I lost 6 pounds in two weeks. I think I will go back to that. Because Alli can for me be summed up into 2 words: Utterly useless and a complete waste of your money. It even made me have severe stomach cramps by the second week, and I was hardly eating any fat to begin with! For those of you who are having trouble, I would suggest making small changes, and follow your own diet that works for you. After all, you are yourself, and you know your body better than anyone else right? And one thing that has helped me was fiber and protein. They help you feel full. I should have stayed on my own diet instead of trying Alli’s crappy diet and worthless pills. For everyone thinking about trying it but aren’t sure, trust me: save your money for something that’s worth it.

I tried alli for over two weeks. This medicine made my stomach hurt and gave me gas. I didn’t experience lose stools but i did experience oil farts that ruined my pants. I had to throw away my chair at work and lie to my boss and leave early. That is unbearably horrible for anyone to experience. The adds explain that you have to eat under 15 grams of fat, which i do already and exercise. I thought the medication would help me lose that last 10 pounds. I lost zero weight a few days of work and 70 dollars in the hole. I didn’t even finish the bottle figuring if i hadn’t lost a single pound yet why continue with the horrible side effects.

Honestly, its not worth it. I’m gonna stick to my low fat diet and exercise. If the weight doesn’t come off then it doesn’t come off. Theres no way i would recommend this product to anyone. My mom asked if i would send her the remains of my bottle and I threw it out. I wish that on no one. Even though it only happened twice, once is too many times. So even if you follow the rules your still gonna fart and spray oil ruining your pants and whatever your sitting on. There is no controling it……

I started a low fat diet in September 09 and taking alli, exerciseing not eating after 7pm no soda. I had side effects the first few weeks ten nothing. I learned that the fat intake at ech meal was to much is why it was happening, so I chaiged it and no side effects just weight loss! So for those who say it dosent work or other thins. Well you must of not resd the little books that come with the pills and maybe you should learn how to eat then see ur results. Because alli does work!Oh the oily spoting is because ur over eating! I started taking Alli when it first came out. I was wearing a size 28. In one year I lost 100 pounds. You do have to watch your fat intake and I started walking at least 4 days a week. It really is about watching what you eat, I had accidents in the beginning until I learned how much fat I could take in with each meal ( i didn’t go over 19 grms at that time). It’s now 2 years later and I’m about to start taking Alli again (now I’m a size 14). As long as you eat healthy, do a little exercise this product should work for you. I will NEVER go back to a size 28, I feel so much healthier now and I can’t wait to start losing again…I’m going for a size 10. Wish me luck and good luck to you all!!

Obviously Alli hasn’t worked for everybody who takes it, but it DOES work. I took Xenecal previously and when I found that Alli can be purchased without a prescription, I didn’t expect comparable results, I was surprised when it actually worked. Bottom line, if the fat isn’t being discarded, than it’s being stored, if your body is ridding fat before storing it, than your body will burn stored fat instead….. It does WORK….
