Most of you have probably watched a bit of the Olympics and are aware of Apollo Ohno, the United States of America’s star speed skater.  I am really skeptical of supplements that have a famous advocate.  The reason for my skepticism is obvious – the celebrity is attempting to make additional money in a booming industry.  When looking at the different products endorsed by celebrities, you must look at the ingredients so as to determine the product’s effectiveness.

I want to give a disclaimer for my above statement.  I want to make it clear that I am not condemning all celebrity-endorsed products.  That is part of the beauty of this world – people can sell things.  Ok, now to the nitty gritty – does this product actually work?  Judging by the contents, most of the ingredients are the body’s essential vitamins and minerals.  Red Zone is supposed to be dedicated to weight loss and energy.  The only proven weight loss ingredients in this supplement are Green Tea leaf extract, and Bitter Orange Extract.  Both have been shown to assist in weight loss, but due to the fact that these ingredients are contained in a proprietary blend we are unable to determine how much of each effective ingredient is truly in this product.

Green Tea commonly has side effects of nausea, insomnia, irritability, frequent urination.  There are some less-common, but serious side effects including increased blood pressure, anxiety, seizures, and irregular and increased heart beat.

Bitter Orange Extract may have many of the same effects as stated above.  Be sure to consult a physician before taking this supplement, particularly if you have heart problems.

Does 8 Zone – Red Zone work well enough to buy?

There are certainly some great ingredients in this product.  However, because the amount of effective ingredients is contained in a proprietary blend, we are unable to determine truly how effective this really is.  This really seems more like a health supplement than a weight loss pill.  When looking for energy and weight loss supplements, there are plenty out there that have money-back guarantees, and proven ingredients – in the proven amounts.  Don’t be fooled by the celebrity endorsements.
